WE CREATE OPPORTUNITIES AND NURTURE COMMUNITIES
Marginal neighbourhoods in Italy’s urban areas are full of neglected potential. Working with youngsters in high schools, we seek to transform these ‘periferie’ in ‘poliferie’: thriving communities rich in opportunities.
Neighbourhoods on the margins of urban areas are increasingly left behind, while wealth in city centres grows and the ability of understanding social problems shrinks. Our activities in schools stimulate pupils to strive for improvement, both for themselves and for the communities they can affect.
It is schools in marginal neighbourhoods that hide what is needed to transform Italy: widespread talents to cultivate and support. These students are our very mission. We want to convince them that the future depends on their actions, not only on their backgrounds.
Today’s students are the most educated and tech-savvy of all time, but Italy still has too few graduates. Poliferie aims at increasing the number of Italian students enrolled at university. More education equals more innovation and more social mobility.
More than 66% of young Italians believe they will be worse off than their parents
More than 27% of young Italians are not studying, working or training.
More than 65% of Italian students in vocational high schools do not enrol at university.
We join schools in marginal neighbourhoods, bringing with us highly experienced speakers. We discuss with students issues seldom covered by traditional curricula: the future of work requires soft, ever-changing skills!
Enhance one’s self-esteem and trust in others

Appreciate benefits and drawbacks of the digital revolution
Know how to work in a team and communicate effectively
